Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. You simply browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. When you have finished shopping, you then click on ‘Checkout’ and you will be asked for a few details to complete your order.
All transactions are handled by PayPal. You do not need to have a current PayPal account in order to complete your transaction as PayPal allows a direct payment using a credit or debit card. Hector’s Barn does not collect and/or store any credit or debit payment card details.
When you receive confirmation of an order from us, it is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an email to notify you that your order has been processed and despatched. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, and we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. We reserve the right to refuse an order if we are advised by our secure payment provider that a transaction may be ‘high risk’ or possibly fraudulent.
The Hector’s Barn online store makes every effort to ensure that information provided is accurate. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site are accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. If a product offered by us is not as described your sole remedy is to return it in an unused resaleable condition.
Please be aware that colours may look different on your computer screen, we advise using a hand painted colour card for a true representation if you are buying Paint.
Shipping And Handling
We only ship orders to the United Kingdom mainland. We generally use Parcelforce 24 or 48 hour service (selectable at checkout) with the price automatically set according to the nature of the item(s) purchased.
We will aim to despatch any orders received before MIDDAY on the day the order is received. Any orders placed at weekends will be processed on the Monday since Parcelforce do not operate collections service at weekends.
Deliveries are made on WORKING DAYS ONLY (No Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday deliveries). We cannot guarantee next day delivery and cannot be held responsible for any delays incurred once the parcel has left our premises.
In the event of no-one being in to take delivery, a parcel may be left with a neighbour or may be taken to a local Post Office where it can be collected. (some form of I.D. will be needed to claim your parcel).
We will ship to the address supplied by you in the shipping address part of the order. If this address is incorrect we will not be held responsible for any loss of goods or compensation thereafter regarding goods or shipping costs.
Large items such as furniture will need to be collected by a courier which the buyer is responsible for arranging. Hector’s Barn can recommend a courier if necessary.
We make every effort to pack paint carefully so that cans arrive with you safely. However, very occasionally, paint cans can be damaged by the courier during shipping. If paint has leaked from a can then we will normally replace it, free of charge. We do not, however, replace dented cans where no paint has leaked. We consider it to be the paint that we are selling to you, rather than the can.
Please note that the colours displayed on this website may appear different on your computer screen.
Please note that we do not offer refunds on 1 litre tins of paint that have been opened. So, if you are uncertain about the colour that you want, we advise you to try one of our tester pots first, before you purchase a larger tin.
To return an item for a refund, we must be notified within 7 working days of receipt; items must be returned in the same condition as when they left us, and buyers are responsible for the cost of returning the item(s). We’ll refund once we’ve received and processed the safely returned item.
